What is the minimum number of handicapped parking spaces required in an apartment complex?
I live in an apartment complex with over 100 apartments that covers about 2-3 acres in total. There are about 15 buildings each having its own parking lot. In the entire complex, there is (1) handicapped parking spot, it is by the leasing office. A friend of mine who also lives here is handicapped and has a health care worker who drives him around to appointments etc. He has asked for a handicapped space near his apartment and the apartment manager has told him no, because he does not own a vehicle. Is this legal?

Specific to state and county.
Lots of places don’t have a specific.
You will need to call your city planning board/division because it will literally vary from city to city.
Due to the fact that he does not own a vehicle it is kinda hard to press the issue. It would be empty all the time then you would have ppl parking in it and that would cause another problem. There may be some kind of board meeting that can be attended by tenants and you may want to try that route.
