Sotomayor’s comment, as they are interpreting it, only exists in their wild imaginations. Is there some reason she shouldn’t “hope her experience as a latina should help her do a better job?” (That’s what she said – but Fox TV isn’t telling them that!)
As far as Sanford – it’s easy to forgive an affair, that’s not what Democrats are criticizing him for – it’s about a guy who made a political career attacking others for having affairs and saying they should quit office, then refusing to step down himself in the same situation.
Forgiveness is based on repentance, so if Sanford and Ensign appear to sincerely repent then I will forgive them, but would not trust them in any position of power for a long time.
The same rules apply to Sodamaker, and since I have not heard of her repenting for her racist views, then I will not support her nomination for the Supreme Court, and would like to see her be thrown off the bench entirely.
Fully how you portray yourself as an African-American, yet you defend a latina known for racist views that are as against blacks as they are against whites. Evidently your hatred is so strong you fail to see that her racist sword will swing both ways.
You can forgive someone for a transgression but that does not mean I want them to stay in office. Anyone who taints the office of Governor or President (or any elected office) in such a manor should resign.
What I don’t forgive is the racism that is in the neo-socialist party (formerly known and the democrat party). And they try to call us racists. Sotomayer is a racist, plain and simple.
None of them need to be forgiven by any of us.
The voters of the states of the two politicians have to decide how important the infidelity issue is to them.
The Supreme Court needs to be protected from racist influence, even if it is not white racism, which is the only racism most liberals can see.
If a white judge made the statement, “I would hope my life as a white American would make me a better judge than people who don’t have that same perspective.”, you liberals would demand that he/she be disbarred, and a Supreme Court nomination would be a non-issue.
these were not conservative as much as republicans. but if bill clinton and david patterson can be forgiven, so can these guys. it is funny how each side forget their own transgressions just to point out anothers. as far as sotomayor, it is a racist comment if you can interchange words and it be taken any differently. ie replace “latina woman” with “white man”
i don’t live in Nevada or South Carolina, so it’s none of my business.
what bothers me is the lies that Gov. Sanford said like when he was going for 8 years
like Bill Clinton “I didn’t have any sexual relations with Ms. Lewinski”
it a family matter and God would want me to forgive him
No, Sanford and son should resign. You see Wolf, Republicans resign after being shamed, Liberals Like Blago, deny it, and try to stay in office.
Like Jon Edwards, and Geithner the tax cheat.

poll
over 50% of politicians cheat as oposed to 15% of the general population
And what they do personally has no affect on me.
Forgive, yes and yes.
Trust, no and no.
I’m not a con, but I’ve forgiven them. In fact, I was never angry… their business.
.
I still dislike them because they are right-wing, though
I doubt that they forgive any of the three without resignations.
Yes. No.
Why not the libs forgave Clinton.
yes and no.
