Well there is a race that a republican can win. The republicans in calif. have the decency to resign when they get caught in a sex scandal and saying stupid things.
Certainly not Wilson ! This man is a folk hero to the conservative right. Finally, a conservative with the stones to say it the way it needed to be said.
Sanford did what millions of people do each year, and nobody goes to jail for it. It isn’t proper, but it is a private matter between a man and his wife. It certainly is not deserving of political fodder because the liberals are on a witch hunt.
South Carolina is a great state with many true American patriots. Shame on those who would demonize the state over political stories not worth the ink used to print them.
If they can over look all of Clinton’s and Kennedy’s affairs, don’t see why Sanford’s would be any different. As for Wilson, he didn’t do anything more than what a bunch of Democrats did when they all booed Bush at one of his speeches. At least there was only Republican that did that and he apologized. I think a lot of people were thinking it.
Wilson isn’t a particular liablity–while he violated the rules of decorum–he spoke the truth–any provision to the house bill which requires verfication of resident status was stripped from the bill–all you’d have to do to be covered under the house bill if you were not a US citizen was simply learn the english word “yes” and use it if someone asked you if you were a citizen. Having said that–even with our sanford–he’s a minor liability–far outweighed by the major liability the democrats have made for themselves–trying to pass legislation that a majority of americans don’t want. trust in the democratic party according to the polls has been going down in flames over the last few months for this reason. If I were democrats instead of worrying about the republicans liability–I’d be worrying about the left wing fanatics that have hijacked the democratic party-and are going to run it back into oblivion. I have the sneaking suspcision watching the polls and my countrymen that Barrack Obama will be the greatest thing that ever happened to the republican party in the long run.
I think any politician…democrat or republican that gets caught up in a scandal becomes a liability to their party…
