Seems like his extramarital affair is becoming a huge distraction for him and South Carolina.

The affair is a private matter. What cannot be denied is that the leader of a state government left the country with no one – not even his wife – aware of his whereabouts. If there had been a national crisis like Sanford’s state being attacked, his state would have been without leadership.
This is not an issue of Democrats vs. Republicans or of liberals vs. conservatives. I don’t care what party the person is. A politician ditches his responsibilities for a week, that politician is out!

I think his wife comes across as a very classy lady. He needs to stop whatever he’s doing and try to salvage his marriage and his family. We all make mistakes – he shouldn’t compound his big one by letting his ego get in the way.
