im looking into getting my first apartment by myself and even though i havent found a place i would like to get some ideas for decorating it so i know how much to save and what things would cost. i have already looked on the Ikea website and found some things that i love but i was just curious how you guys chose color schemes to decorate…is ur house all the same theme or do they vary from room to room?
so far i like : 1. turquoise/aqua, brown and white
2. dark red, burnt orange, brown
3. green,blue and white
what are ur favorite color combos?
how did u intergrate the color scheme with the decoration of the rooms?

Alright, I am a college student living in a campus-affiliated apartment (therefore my own room- yay!). Anyway, I just moved into this apartment and I want the colors to be light green and purple. I have a nice green bed spread, and I’m thinking about purple sheets (for now I have basic green ones). I have purple throw pillows, and a green throw blanket. I have a few purple and green picture frames, a green organizer, a green trash can, green and purple vases/flowers, and that’s about it with the colors. I have a ton of posters for my walls. (Not color-schemed, just photography posters I enjoy.) I do not want to paint because I’d just have to paint it back to white when I move. Any ideas on how to bring in more of the purple and green scheme without being too childish? I have an old white dresser that I am thinking about adding some purple and green designs to. Other ideas? I don’t really have room to nicely place an area rug
