Tenant rights in Florida with regards to extermination?

My landlord is the most incompetant man I’ve ever met.

As of right now, we have 3 violations with the city for various things (ie. having signs too large on the premises, having an unproperly paved parking area, etc.)

But this is my dilemma: We have Rats in our apartment. They live behind the stove and fridge. When it’s dark, we hear scuffling. We chased one out of an open door to the outside. Another is still around, and it sneaks out looking for food at sundown. I’ve seen it drinking water out of my puppy’s water bowl.

This is obviously a huge health hazard.

Here is what I have done:

1. Bought poison/sticky traps and placed them everywhere.
2. Emailed my landlord on 3 dates: July 2, July 4, and July 18.
3. Threatened to withold rent if no exterminator is sent.

Legally, the landlord is responsible for extermination. But what if he consistently ignores me? What avenues/rights do I have?

I live in Florida.

Thank you.

When is a tenant in Florida legally allowed to shut off power?

The power to the apartment is in my name. I am vacating September 14th; this is before the September 30th end of my lease. Am I legally allowed to shut off the power, or must the power be in my name until my lease ends? The apartment will be empty for those last couple of weeks, and I’m running low on cash.

In the state of Florida, can a family of 5 rent a 2bdr. home if the owner and tenant agree to it?

Is there any California law about parking spaces to tenant ratios for apartment complexes?

At my apartment it seems that there are way more apartments than spaces for tenants to park in. My roommate and I each have a car, and for our two bedroom apartment there is only one space, and little to no legal street parking in the area.

Is there some standard which mandates how many parking spaces an apartment complex must have in comparasin to how many tenants it can hold?
